What Customers Say About ASUS Eee PC 900 8.9-Inch Netbook (Intel Mobile Processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB Solid State Drive, Linux, 4 Cell Battery) Galaxy Black:

There are a few thingat was just as good as I wanted to load a full inastall of Ubuntu rather than mess around with the Xandrstraight from thos that copmes with the system anyway. The keyboard is a little small, and the mousepad is in a position t be accidentally hit every once in a while, but it is overall very usable and a lot better than plunking on the ole Blackberry keyboard. One major problem for my use (hence 3 instead of 4 or 5 stars) is the fact that the microphone does not work. wsan ted to be able to return if there were problems.

Ubuntu straigt from the negt installs without a hitch. This is a known problem with no0 fix or good workaround on the Ubuntu site and, as usual with tech support, the ASUS people asre clueless when you say LINUX. Wifi just works.

I bought my Asus 900 at Best Buy. Ibuntu bought the machine, upped the memory myself to the max recomended (2Gigs), and avoided the temptation to pugt a 320G hard drive inside, the 160 is good enough for my use and it runs HOT with that. Their solution was to install Windows, which I am not about to do, so no Skype or Ekiga (video IP phone packages) will work until the problem is fixed.

I'm writing this freview on it now and, for the most part, it is a great value. No problem said the Best Buy Geeks.

The only thing I have been able to find wrong with it is that if you are running YouTube or especially iGoogle, it slows up whatever else you have running. This is the account owner's daughter. A good product. But other than that, I really enjoy the convenience of my new Eee PC. When I first saw the Eee PC, I thought that it was a very cute, lightweight computer. One thing I really like about it is that you can scroll using the touch pad.

My 15'' HP Pavillion looks so huge and heavy now. This small and practical PC spoiled me beyond recognition.

It's called a netbook, but it can do a LOT. Turn the screen brightness down all the way when using the battery. I got it simply to surf the web on the go and I didn't need to buy a full laptop for that. I chose the linux version for security and to save $50. You can't load Flash media player on this version of linux. I think the solution to most of the problems is to load Ubuntu and I will probably do that soon.Overall, I would get it again, and for under $300 it boots WAY faster then a windows laptop, is way more secure, and while it can't do everything, it probably does what most people need it too. All but one of my computers is now linux based. I smashed all the wrong keys on the keyboard when I got it.

The loaded OS seems to freeze for a few seconds. It does everything it claims to do, worked out of the box. I also love how light this thing is. I had to learn how to type on this thing, and I still make a lot more mistakes then a regular keyboard. I have two desktops each with a duty, and this netbook replaced a broken laptop. It isn't until you try and live with one, that you realize just how small it is. It can also play back DVD quality video. I tested everything including the video camera and mic with the preloaded skype.

The battery is useful, but not great. I was showing off a video on battery for just a few minuets and it burned up 20% of the battery. I'm not sure why, but I don't like it. The screen can be too small at times. It is small.

I've had this long enough to be picky about it and I have. I could probably burn the battery up in an hour or so with the wireless on. Oh and last but not least, you won't look like a total douche with this thing at the coffee shop. It doesn't seem to have power profiles or energy saving options. Lets face it, who actually takes advantage of modern computer power anyway.

It never locks up, but it seems to hiccup over nothing. I knew it was, I even looked at them in stores. I'm actually thinking about loading ubuntu on this netbook. The bad.

look at it and you know what to do with out reading a book or going to "help". Nice versatile sub-notebook p c reasonably priced with every thing loaded on it for essential office work and internet. Linux O S very intuitive.
